It is an indisputable active dog and has a strong and compact phisical constitution.
It’s hair is thick and waterproof thus making it an ideal dog for work or sports in the water.
Full of energy, understanding, loving and sociable by nature, the Labrador is well adaptable to people, especially children.
At the age of 7 / 8 weeks should weigh between 4.5 kg and 6kg. In the adult stage, a male Labrador should measure between 57/62cm (height) and weigh 30/37kg, the female Labrador should weigh and measure 28/35 kg 55/60cm.
Labradors can be black, golden or chocolate-coloured, and can also have white patches on the hair.
Due to its popularity, some Labradors suffer from health problems due to excess of breeding. The biggest concerns are hip’s dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy and epilepsy as well as diabetes.

A well maintained Labrador can reach up 11 to 15 years old.
