We must protect our pets and ourselves. Once in the uterus, the fetus can suffer from infections and infestations. So we must protect it, focusing on prevention in the mother, monitoring it’s pregnancy. After birth this healthcare, besides the mother, must include the puppys.

Pets infestations can occur at a very early life stage (it can occur intra-uterine and transbreast infections), from 15 to 30 days of age, you must put into practice the domestical dog’s internal desinfestation program and the mother’s external deworming.

At 6 weeks of age begins the primary vaccine process, that is, the first booster.

At 8 weeks of age the puppys are dewormed internal and externally.

At 9 weeks of age the 2nd booster is made.

At 12 weeks of age the 3rd booster is made and a new deworming (internal and external) is made to the puppys.

At 16 weeks of age the rabies vaccine is given o the puppys.

Domestic dogs deworming should be made in a monthly basis up to 6 months of age. The flea and tick control depends on the chosen or advised method. After 6 months of age, the internal deworming should be made on a 4 month basis, unless there are contacts with children under 5 years of age, then it should be dewormed on a 3 month basis.

When you apply internal deworming you must monitor carefully the animal’s feces to verify the absence or presence of parasites. Please note that if there are no parasites present in your dog’s feces does not mean it is totally dewormed.

Reaching 6 months of age, the leishmaniosis prophylactics vaccines begins.

When your dog is in it’s adult age, revaccinations are implemented on an annual basis. You should always respect the shedule between vaccines, specially at the first vaccines, because there are expected reactions wich can be lost if you exceed the time limit to apply the following vaccine.
